Gluten Free Grain Free Hot Cross Buns

Grain-Free Hot Cross Buns - Recommended by Nutritionist Jordan Pie!

No need to fall off the wagon this Easter, Sisters! With this faff-free, delicious Hot Cross Bun recipe, you can whip up a batch in your Thermomix or regular mixer.

We’re beyond thrilled that our grain-free hot cross buns have been recommended by leading nutritionist Jordan Pie as a better alternative to the supermarket varieties. And when you see the ingredients and taste the difference, you’ll know why!

A Perfect Addition for Primalistas

Hot Cross Buns are a fabulous seasonal treat and an excellent addition to any Primalista’s offerings. They practically sell like the literal hot cakes they are at markets! Customers are always on the lookout for delicious, healthier Easter options, and these buns are sure to become a favourite.

And yes, they’re a little different. They’ve got more of a muffin vibe than a traditional bun — it’s all part of the charm of grain-free baking! Let’s be honest, they might not have that perfectly polished, factory-made look. Sometimes the crosses crack or slide off, but hey, that’s how you know they’re homemade with love. Plus, the taste is unbeatable— way better than any supermarket bun, in my humble opinion.

And bonus — no bloating or brain fog afterwards. Total win! 🙌

A Baking Tip for Perfect Buns

If you’re making these yourself, using silicone trays can help them pop out easier and give them a more bun-like appearance. Muffin liners tend to make them look, well, more muffiny — but the flavour will still be spot on!

And if baking isn’t your thing, no worries! Your local Primalista would love to whip up a batch for you. Find your nearest Primalista here.
