So here it is, for Primal Alterative their tasty donut recipe for you to make, enjoy and share!  It is loaded with healthy fats that fuel the brain and made with a low carb flour that won’t spike blood sugars or cause inflammation in the body.  It is truly a guilt-free indulgence!

This recipe is a plain/base donut which is intended to empower you as the baker to top, dunk, roll, or sprinkle your donut to your liking.  They have tried dozens of various toppings and dunks and say that all of them have proven delicious! Paleo Donut Recipe

Ingredients

Mix the following ingredients in their own bowl:

  • 3 ½ cups almond flour
  • 3 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Method

  1. Mix the following ingredients separately in an electric mixer:
    - 2 eggs
    - ½ cup mapled coconut cream (1 can coconut cream, pinch of salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla , 1 teaspoon maple extract)
    - 1 tablespoon vanilla
    - ½ cup coconut milk
  2. Add dry mixture to the mixer with the wet ingredients. Mix until combined
  3. Then, add 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil. Turns into a batter
  4. Pipe batter into greased donut pans
  5. Bake @ 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes

Makes 18 donuts

Cinnamon and Sugar Topping

  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/4 cup xylitol
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Method:

  1. Mix in a bowl
  2. Using a pastry brush brush donuts with melted butter and then roll donuts in cinnamon and sugar mixture
