Recipe: Keto Chocolate Thick Shake

recipes Mar 11, 2018

I have always been a sucker for chocolate milk.  I love chocolate and I love choc nut even more, but commercial chocolate milk is off the menu for me these days due to the sugar, dairy and well everything about it really!

But that doesn’t mean I can’t get a choc milk fix sister girlfriend!

I used to make a Snickers Smoothie with banana but since my Keto Reset I have tweaked the recipe and found that I actually prefer this more now.  My kids hate it!  If you are coming in with a sweet tooth you may want to start with my other Snickers Smoothie  until your taste buds adapt and boy do they adapt!

Carbs wise, my Snickers Smoothie has around 19g carbs per serve and this one has around 10g with the carbs coming from the coconut milk and nut butter.

I love the healing powers of getting 2 tablespoons of gelatine into my gut, I love the way the cacao helps me concentrate and I love that the MCT oil helps me produce Ketones.

Ingredients

  • 140g coconut milk (I use Ayam)
  • Ten drops of stevia
  • 30g MCT oil or refined coconut oil
  • 4 tablespoons of Collagen Hydrolysate (I used Great Lakes Green one – you can use normal gelatine but your smoothie will set!)
  • 2 tablespoons of any nut butter
  • 40g raw cacao
  • 400g water

Method

Measure all of the ingredients into the Thermomix bowl and then blend on speed 10 for 2 mins.  Or blend until smooth in your high powered blender.
